Lovin’ it!!!

Gett’n Ready/Washing All the Baby Outfits

Today we get to wash up all the fun clothes we got from our shower! And fill up the wap’n two drawers that I have for the new baby.

My sisters all like to just pass around the big stuff for babies, like swings, bouncers, bassinets, etc. We do that, because first of all, who wants to store all of that big equipment when you’re not using it, and hard to buy all of the big stuff when you’re only having a few kids, like me. It has made it very nice and convenient for all of us. And now it’s my turn, how fun!!!
I now have everything except a bouncer and toys.

When we bought a car-seat, stroller, and play ‘n pack for Destynee, I wanted to get a color that we could use for either boy or girl. It’s green with little lambs all over it. So I already have all that too!!

All I need to do now, is pack my diaper bag so it’s ready for the hospital. Wahoo!!! Here we come! Well, any day now!

Baby Shower for Gordon Metallic

I took Destynee, and told her she got to unwrap all of Tal’s presents because he couldn’t unwrap them. She was absolutely loving it!!!, that is for about ten presents. I think once she realized that most were just clothes, and that they weren’t for her, which I pre-warned her about, she slowly began to lose interest….

We had so much fun, and it turned out so perfect. I’m so excited to go through all the outfits again! It’s fun all over again.

Two of my cousins were so amazingly thoughtful, and brought Destynee a garanimals matching game. She thought that was pretty cool! We’ve already played it seven times today!

Thank You Everybody!!!

Baby Gordon

So as you know, we are planning to name our baby, Gordon Metallic. We have been calling him Tal, because that’s what Destynee started calling him and I love it!

Alice and her twin girls, call him, Baby Gordon. She says it helps her identify him with his daddy, Gordon, and helps her remember that it’s our baby.

It’s amazing to me how much everything works out so perfectly, even down to his name!

38 Weeks/Counting Down!!!

Our 38 week ultrasound was yesterday. The doctor guessed that he’s about 8.4 lbs right now, which in two weeks, he could be 9.4 lbs. What a chunky, monkey! He is so big, that the ultrasound was hard to make out anything.

Metallic already knows how to be a good little boy. He turned, face down, and is head’n down & out. Sweet!!
What an angel!
And Alice’s body, amazing!!! It knows just what to do to get ready for a beautiful birth!

She was so relieved to know that he had turned. I am so excited for her to have the exact labor & birth that she wants! She had her twins early at 29 weeks, and she had to have a c-section. She’s excited to have a different experience.

Two weeks left!!! Pretty much any day now, I will be holding my little stud!!!

Running out of Time, Wahoo!

There is so dang much going on right now, and I’m running out of time. WAHOO!!!

I never thought I would say that. It seemed like we would never get to this point. The surrogate process and the first of the pregnancy took FOREVER…….

We have three weeks left, before we get to meet our miraculous stud, “Gordon Metallic“!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Destynee has been asking where Tal will sleep and where he’s going to sit in the car. She came to me and said, “Mom, I want to give Tal my bed, and I’ll just sleep with you”. And with that, she crawled up by me, and there she stayed the entire night.

I asked her if she would help me organize her dresser, and if Tal could have two of her drawers. She is so generous, but she did have one request, “But mom, can I share one of the drawers WITH him?”
She is so damn cute, I can hardly stand it!!! She is so ready for a sibling!

We’ve been making baby blankets, and rearranging stuff so we can fit all the fun equipment that comes with a new baby into our tiny space. It’s been so much fun. It’s like Christmas times a million, and then even way funner than that!!

We Love Our Little Brother

Our Expecting Addition to Our Family & Our Wonderful Baby Mamma!

At our sibling retreat, I got my sister, Stacey, to take some family pictures of us. They turned out so cute, and of course, we had to add humor in the mix.

Daddy Feels His Baby Move!

Alice has been coming up alot lately, which give us bonding time with our baby. Destynee loves to hug her belly and feel her little brother moving! He has been moving a lot for all of us lately.

Earlier in the pregnancy, I was talking to Gordon about feeling the baby once he got big enough. Gordon mentioned that it was kinda uncomfortable touching another woman’s belly, and that it wasn’t that big of a deal to him to feel the baby. I could completely identify where he was coming from, because she’s my sister and it still feels a lil’ uncomfortable to me. I decided for me that I was going to get over it, cuz I didn’t want to have any regrets. It’s only as awkward as you make it, right?

Well we had a sibling retreat last weekend, and Gordon had some liquid courage. I was loving up on Alice’s belly all weekend, and so was Destynee. Gordon came in a asked her if he could feel the baby. Of course she was excited and encouraged him to. Daddy put his hand on her belly, and Metallic went crazy. He moved more for daddy, than he ever had for me! I was so excited, and Gordon was ecstatic! After that, he seemed to relax and couldn’t get enough of his baby. If the baby wasn’t moving much, Dan would come over and shake up Alice’s belly to get the baby moving for Gordon. It was so freak’n fun to watch!!!

One time, while Gordon was feeling the baby, one of my brother-in-laws, who we don’t see much, sat across the table with the most confused, disgusted look on his face. He looked as if he were looking for Alice’s husband Dan. After several minutes of not knowing what to do or think about the whole situation, he gasped and said, “OH my hell, Gordon, I forgot it was your baby!” Everyone burst out laughing.

Big Baby/Breech

Because Alice has done so well through the pregnancy, we have managed to skip several doctor appointments. It has been very nice, because we both live 30-45 minutes away from the hospital in different directions and it’s sometimes challenging to find baby sitters. She’s so amazing!!!

At the last appointment, because of where the baby’s heart beat was, the doctor thought he was still breech. The nurse was a little concerned, and said that where the baby is at 36 weeks, is typically where he’ll stay. She assured us that he could still turn, and that he had pleanty of time. Turn baby, turn. Face down, go to the light!

Our next and last ultrasound will be at 38 weeks. The OB is a little concerned that the baby will be too big to deliver vaginally. He says that if baby Gordon looks like he’s going to be over 10 pounds, then we may have to do a c-section. I personally think he will weigh about 8.6 lbs. Mother’s instinct….We’ll see!!!

Twiner Blankets!!!

I remembered that I had an unfinished boy blanket that I started making way before I was even married. I always thought that I was going to have twins, so I made matching twin blankets for a girl and boy. When I had Destynee, I finished the girl one, and put the other one in storage. I pulled it out and to my surprise, it is almost finished.

I showed Destynee and asked her if she would help me finish the blanket for Metallic? I asked her if she wanted Tal to have a matching blanket like hers. She squealed and said, “then me and Tal could have twiner blankets, same, same!!!”

I guess I can have a twin girl and boy, it’s just a lil’ different and that’s the way I do things. It’s all in how you look at it. Well it gave me a fun idea anyway. Maybe I can find more twiner stuff for them. Sweet!!!
